Qr Codes are on the verge of becoming quite popular in the USA. They have been very poular in other parts of the world for years, especially in Japan. They were originally introduced as a means of tracking automobile parts.

So, what exactly is a QR Code? A QR Code is similar to a bar code (see image) that when scanned, can link to many types of information. This information can be in many forms, all online for the most part. Anyone who owns a smart phone can read and access them easily. You must first download an app for reading the code. You then scan the code with camera on your smart phone and you are instantly taken to a website, eStore, coupon, tetimonials, it goes on and on. These QR codes are becoming increasingly popular at various retailers where you will find it included with the price/info badge attached to shelf on which the merchandise is located.

Why should this matter? This is an open door for all types of marketing concepts that were previously unavailable. I will be covering some of these as well as some other interesting facts in the weeks to come. QR Codes just may be what you need to pump some new life into your marketing efforts.
