Take the time to read and comprehend this and you will instantly have an edge in your quest to create wealth online. It’s no secret that making money online from the comfort of your own home is a very attractive business opportunity. It’s also a FACT that 90% of the people who attempt to make money online will unfortunately, fail. There are many reasons and theories as to why the failure rate is so high. But, the main reason for so many IM newbies not succeeding is not having the right mindset from the start.

You need to be aware of and avoid the “Mental Quicksand”.

What I mean by this is that there is a lot of slippery and slimy garbage out there. It’s easy to get overloaded with information Once you begin to explore all of the possibilities. You enter your email address for more information on various “GURU” sites and actually order some ebooks and the madness begins. Your inbox fills up with emails with offers for this and that. So many options that you begin to become mired in a swamp of information that seems to large to navigate your way out of. I’ve been there. At this Point, you will become a “seemore”-you want to see more of this and more of that. Research and development is critical to succeeding online. But, there is a big difference between doing needed, effective R & D and simply being in a trance, in search of the ultimate cyber cash creating machine-which, by the way, does not exist.

Pick your poison.

Making a decision to learn how to make money online is great. But, you must narrow your focus to the point where you will have decided on an exact method of madness. What I mean here is choose a pathway, any path will do but decide which path to take and stay on it.  Do not, I repeat, do not deviate from this. If you keep changing directions you will soon be twisting in the wind with no momentum in any direction to speak of. Pay per Click, Article Marketing,Social Networking, etc.. all these are good but you need to pick one and only one to start with. You know what they say about opinions and everybody has their own idea about what’s best. Pick one, learn, practice by doing and do not give up.

Pick a program and mentor.

The Internet is populated with 1000′s of guru’s or so called gurus who offer programs such as ebooks, memberships, special software, etc. Unfortunately, there are a lot people claiming to be guru’s who only want to separate you from your money. Do some searching and investigating. Find a product(s) and a person that you feel comfortable with and stick with that product(s) and person. If you keep changing horses you will never reach a point of stability where you can learn, achieve and enjoy seeing some tangible success. Everything new has a way of hypnotizing with some really smooth sales copy that will have you going in a different, not better, direction and ultimately leave you at the starting point all over again. It’s a vicious cycle that grinds up and spits out most people producing that huge community of people who have abandoned their dreams of financial success online. If you want to succeed at Affiliate Marketing pick something and stay with it.

Be sure to continually feed your mind good stuff. Books by people such as Napoleon Hill, Tony Robbins, Mark Joyner, Maxwell Maltz and others are of great help.

Try to go light on the mindless activities. I like to think of these as anything that does not contribute to getting you closer to where and who you desire to be. I don’t know of anyone who has made anything significant of themselves by playing video games 24/7.
