Having the right mindset is key to “crushing it” online as an entrepreneur in cyberspace. Is succeeding at your own online business truly, genuinely, difficult? Or, is it just the large numbers of people who quit after the first hurdle that make it appear that way?

Three Key Factors to staying on the path to success:

• Goals, Goals, Goals

It sounds cliché but this is fact. If you can “think it”, then by all means “ink it”. By this I mean you must have goals not only in your mind but organized and written down. This is fact. In a study that took place in the 1950′s at Harvard University, a group of students were asked about goals. To no surprise everyone said they had goals. But, when asked if these goals were in writing, only 3% of the group answered “yes”. This study was followed up 30 years later with the same group of people. And, the 3% who had written down there goals were worth more than the other 97% combined. I’m telling you, this stuff works!

• Modeling

Not the kind in the sports illustrated swimsuit issue. What I am talking about here is choosing someone who you admire from a success standpoint. This person should be someone doing what you aspire to succeed at. Research and learn everything possible about this person. Find out what their internet marketing secret is in their chosen area of expertise. Then, duplicate what they have done in the way of techniques they have used to get where they are at. You obviously need to add your own style and twist to whatever you are pursuing, this will make you stand out and give you an edge. But, in this day and age with so much information at our fingertips it is just plain silly to go into your web business without studying someone who has already been there and done that.

• Garbage In, Garbage Out

Ever heard the term, “you are what you eat”? Well the same theory holds true for what you feed your mind. This is a very quick glance at an extremely large topic, but, I will try to give a very brief explanation for what could be the most critical part of the internet marketing secret and the psychology of success online. Everything you read, hear and do has profound consequences on a subconscious level. You will become what you think. Surround yourself with positive people as much as possible. Read and listen to content that inspires and educates whenever possible. I enjoy going brain dead as much as the next guy while watching sitcoms and listening to music. And, we all benefit from relaxing but your success is not moving forward as a direct result of this so you need to make certain this is not over done. And when you do enjoy some “down time” try to keep yourself immersed in positive energy as much as possible. Remember: Thoughts become things, Make them good ones!
